Communication Skills for Leaders, Coaches and Mentors

“We all think we know how to listen and ask questions. But when you learn what it really means to listen and support others through the words you speak, you realize it is an art. One that makes all the difference in the world to others.”

~Becky R. Conference participant

This two day workshop is for anyone who wants to know the most effective (yet humble and easy to grasp) communication skills to mentor, coach and lead others. These communication skills will transform every single one of your relationships–both at home and at work–and you’ll be able to use them right away (for a fun video of Elle and her dog Ole’ demonstrating listening, please click here: Elle and Ole’).

Learning Outcomes:

  • When to coach and when to use other forms of support such as supervision, mentoring, teaching, advising)
  • How to do “walk about coaching and mentoring”
  • What it means to be a leader who helps other leaders experience transformational change.
  • How to listen just listen (No, I mean really listen with nothing added, nothing altered, nothing resisted and nothing changed).
  • How to ask questions that help people think better and not become defensive.
  • Questions and a tool that help people become aware of their assumptions.
  • How to ask Thought Leadership Questions that put new intriguing ideas on the table.
  • How to lead others with presence, completion, and compassion.
  • How to hold a powerful coaching conversation in about 30 minutes.
  • How action that “instigates adaptive action” helps people discover their leadership abilities.
Come to this workshop as a team–that way you will all learn the skills together and then commit to using them as your team works together.
